I am a clinical psychologist who has been in practice for more than ten years. I believe that everyone deserves to live a life with inner satisfaction and self-fulfillment, and that psychotherapy is a journey that allows the individual to explore the inner world, discover the roots of emotional suffering, and build more constructive coping mechanisms. This is made possible through a collaborative, safe, and authentic relational experience.
I work with people with a variety of challenges such as emotional dysregulation, anxiety, loss and grief, difficulties with life transitions, and interpersonal problems. My passion is to help adults who struggle with trauma to feel freedom and express their genuine selves. This process requires patience and a desire for deep self-understanding.
I am trained in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic approaches. I am committed to providing a supportive, non-judgmental, and nurturing therapeutic environment. I offer psychotherapy in English and Farsi. To book an appointment, please email me at m.atefi@psychologues-montreal.net.
Every year, I have different training courses to keep my knowledge up to date on the practice of psychotherapy.
Every year, I ask psychologists who are more experienced than me to help me improve as a psychotherapist.
The psychodynamic approach is based on the interpretation of the unconscious processes that drive and shape our relationships with others and with ourselves.
